Getting Started
Begin services with DLD Bookkeeping & Business Solutions LLC.
1. schedule a Free Consultation
Book a free 15 minute Zoom session to start the conversation.
2. We discuss your Bookkeeping and Accounting needs
We’ll meet to talk through your bookkeeping and accounting needs, current challenges, and goals.
What to Have Ready for Your Consultation
1. Business basics — business name, entity type (LLC, S-corp, sole prop, etc.), and industry
2. Current bookkeeping situation — how books are currently being handled (DIY, another bookkeeper, not at all) and what software you’re using, if any (QuickBooks, Xero, spreadsheets, etc.). If you don’t currently have anything set-up, that’s okay too!
3. How far behind you are — a rough sense of how current or behind your books are (last month, last year, several years). When did you last file taxes?
4. Pain points — a general idea of what’s prompting the search for a bookkeeper (tax time stress, cash flow confusion, preparing for a loan, etc.)
5. Number of accounts and Volume of transactions — a ballpark sense of monthly transaction volume or business size (helps gauge scope) and the number of bank and credit card accounts you currently use. We also need to know if you have any other services set up like a point of sale system.
6. Key questions — any specific questions about services, pricing, or processes.
Since it’s just a 15-minute intro call, none of this needs to be exact – just enough for both of us to see if it’s a good fit before scheduling the diagnostic review.
3. Diagnostic Review
I’ll complete a diagnostic review of your books to assess their current state. This diagnostic review has an associated fee, which will be applied toward your bookkeeping cleanup or catch-up work. You will receive an outline of what we reviewed in your books and the next steps to move forward.
4. Begin Monthly Services
Once cleanup/catch-up is complete, we move onto ongoing monthly bookkeeping services.
